Preparing Your Meter Room for a Site Visit

Commercial building meter room with labelled electrical panels

A meter read that requires a second visit delays your report by at least four business days. Most return trips happen because the meter room was locked, blocked by storage, or the escort was unavailable โ€” not because the meters themselves were inaccessible.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm which keys or access cards we need and who will meet us at the plant room door
  • Clear at least one metre of space in front of each panel we will photograph
  • Notify security if our reader must sign in โ€” provide a contact name, not just a desk number
  • Send the latest utility invoice by email if it arrived since your last report cycle

Safety requirements

Our readers do not open live panels or remove covers. We record displayed register values and photograph labels. If you need internal wiring work, that is a separate engagement with your licensed electrician.

Jeju-specific notes

Older coral-block buildings sometimes house meters in exterior cupboards exposed to humidity. If registers are fogged, we note the condition and may ask for cleaning before the next cycle so digits remain photographable.

If a read is missed

We state the gap explicitly in the report. We do not estimate missing intervals. Partial months are reconciled when the next successful read occurs, with a written explanation of how the gap was handled.
